in the past, i've frequently had friends and acquaintances request to buy artwork from me. now i'm thinking of taking commissions for original artwork and putting them onto clothing. i've commonly seen sites where people sell t-shirts, caps, and things like that with original artwork or their site logo/mascot online. i actually recently made myself a denim jacket using an iron-on made from a scan of a "loveless" pencilboard, and it turned out beautifully. sadly, i don't have any pictures of this jacket to post yet, but we have taken some pictures and i should get them fairly soon (they're on cassie's camera ;D).
since i've also been doing original artwork and designs and hoping to make a small profit from them, i wondered if i might be allowed to use this forum as my first group to offer to. i'm thinking of selling printed clothing at the price of the clothing plus $2.00 for the design and any other painting, or $3.00-4.00 for a design, paint, and other customizations, such as ribbons or buttons. depending on what a person wants, i might make this a little bit more, but for now this seems reasonable.
the price of an item from me would depend on the base price of the item someone wanted. i would probably plan on buying this clothing at resale shoppes (denim jackets or jeans are $5.00-$10.00) or target (girl's t-shirts are around $8.00 now, i think). i think that a very resonable price for an item like this in a store would be about $15.00-$20.00, so i don't currently plan on going higher than this in the near future. i could also do basic canvas bags for less ( a plain big bag costs about $3.00) and pillows for maybe a bit more or about the same (cost of stuffing).
my question is, can i advertise this here (since i'm among friends ;D)? (we're all in town, right? so no extra shipping charges unless you want it shipped.)
